We have recently beecome the first string quartet to be nominated for a prestigious VOWS award.
For the boundless energy, enthusiasm and expertise that he brings to our larger projects, we will forever be indebted to James Lowe. In the years we have known him, he has blossomed into one of the finest conductors we could ever hope to be associated with, and we are proud to be amongst the privileged few permitted to call him Mr. Jim Sir.
In 2005 the Rose Street Ensemble made the world premiere recording of our dear friend Julian Wagstaff's Treptow, a string orchestra work inspired by the awesome Soviet war memorial (sowjetisches Ehrenmal) in Treptow park in east Berlin.
Click here for the Scottish Clarinet Quartet, our windy counterparts in the West - an exceptionally talented group with frequent performances that are well worth getting along to.
Visit the website of the dashing Will Dawes, baritone, conductor and thoroughly nice bloke.
The amazing Emma Morwood, a great soprano with whom we frequently perform.
For piano shenanigans, look no further than Robin Hutt.
And the radiant Edinburgh based soprano Cath Backhouse.
We wouldn't be who we are today without cutting out teeth in Edinburgh University String Orchestra.
And then, of course, there's our flute-toting composer chum Michael Jennings.
Our new friends, the brilliant covers band, the Copycats.
Jay Wilson, a great friend from Uni, who composes for weddings to commission.
A great session drummer, and all round nice guy, Simon Berriman.
Another great weddings band, Cool Reception.
Our friends Kelly and Chris in Grantham run the incredibly versatile PX Produxtions.
The wonderful Paul Trippett and his excellent quartet.

We have expended a great deal in blood sweat and tears over the years playing outside the Mussel Inn on Rose Street. Every ounce we have lost, however, has been more than generously replaced with seafood chowder (which we cannot recommend highly enough), for which we are eternally grateful.
...and another thing... Our good friend Robert Gibson, who was in charge of the Mussel Inn during our "residency" has since gone solo and opened his own restaurant, the Mussel and Steak Bar, on the Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
